Video management systems, run as infrastructure

VMS

A surveillance system is only as useful as its uptime. VMS covers the full estate: cameras, recording and storage planned properly, monitored continuously, and maintained by the same team that runs your infrastructure.

Overview

Video estates grow one camera at a time. Before long, storage is undersized, coverage has gaps, and nobody knows which recorder feeds which camera. VMS treats the estate as infrastructure: coverage planned against requirements, storage sized for retention, and health monitored.

Scalenta designs and deploys the video management system on established platforms, then monitors recorders, storage and camera health, and coordinates maintenance and staged expansions.

Scope

What this includes

  • Coverage planning and camera placement design
  • Video management platform deployment and configuration
  • Recording storage sized for the required retention
  • Remote viewing and access configuration
  • Health monitoring for recorders, storage and cameras
  • Maintenance coordination and staged expansions

FAQ

Common questions

How long can recordings be retained?
As long as the storage is sized for. Retention is one of the first design inputs — camera count, resolution and frame rate all feed into it — and the trade-offs are presented before anything is purchased.
Can existing cameras be reused?
Often, especially when they support standard streaming protocols. The assessment confirms what can stay before hardware replacement is proposed.
