Micro Data Center

Not every location needs a data center, but many need more than a comms cabinet. A micro data center packages compute, power and cooling into a managed unit that keeps local workloads running.

Overview

Branch sites, factories and edge locations often run workloads that cannot depend on a WAN link — access control, local file services, industrial systems. A micro data center gives those workloads a proper home: a sealed rack unit with resilient power, cooling and environmental monitoring.

Scalenta designs the unit around the site — capacity, connectivity and physical constraints — coordinates installation, and manages it afterwards through the same remote operations used across your estate.

Scope

What this includes

  • Site survey and capacity planning for the location
  • Sealed rack design with power and cooling
  • Environmental and power monitoring with alerts
  • Connectivity and failover planning
  • Installation coordination and commissioning
  • Remote management through Scalenta operations

FAQ

Common questions

What kind of site does a micro data center suit?
Sites that must keep running when the WAN link drops: factories, warehouses, clinics, retail back offices and other edge locations. The assessment confirms whether a micro unit is genuinely the right answer, or whether a cabinet and good management will do.
Who maintains the unit after installation?
Scalenta monitors it and coordinates maintenance, including hardware replacement and on-site interventions where the vendor or a local contractor is needed. The maintenance model is written into the service scope.
