Large-scale storage, planned instead of panicked

Petabyte

Data growth is rarely a surprise and rarely planned for. Petabyte is Scalenta's managed storage service: capacity you can grow as your data does, with the planning and operations handled.

Overview

Storage pressure shows up in familiar ways: shares filling up, backup windows stretching, performance dropping when the array is busy. Petabyte approaches storage as a managed capacity pool rather than a one-off purchase.

We measure what you actually store and use, plan tiers and growth headroom, and manage the platform afterwards — capacity, performance and lifecycle — so growth is a scheduled change rather than an emergency.

Scope

What this includes

  • Storage capacity planning from real utilisation data
  • Tiered design for performance and capacity workloads
  • Expansion and rebalancing handled as managed change
  • Monitoring for capacity, performance and array health
  • Integration with your backup and archival strategy
  • Lifecycle and refresh planning

FAQ

Common questions

Is 'Petabyte' a guaranteed capacity?
No — it is the service name, not a capacity promise. Capacity is scoped, sized and priced against your actual data profile, and the service is named without locking either of us into a figure that does not fit.
Can storage be expanded without downtime?
Often, but it depends on the platform and your tolerance for risk. We plan expansions as managed changes with realistic impact, and where an interruption is unavoidable you hear about it before, not after.
